OTHER WEB RESOURCES FOR WIRELESS
TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION
The following web sites provide a good starting point
to begin learning more about Ultra Wideband technology, as well as
current alternative wireless formats, via some of the better resources
available on the Internet. With these as a starting point, a significant
amount of additional information can be found.
The Ultra
Wideband Work Group is an association of companies and individuals
currently working in the field of Ultra Wideband technology.
Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG)
An interesting starting point insomuch as Bluetooth is presently perhaps
the largest wireless technology collaboration project. Based in the US
on 2.4GHz RF technology, almost 1700 participants in the Bluetooth SIG

Wireless Application Protocol Forum
The Wireless Application Protocol is a global specification intended to
standardize the way wireless devices exchange and display voice and
data. Already in use in Europe and Japan and set to enter the U.S. on
devices this year (2000), WAP defines a new language - WML (Wireless
Markup Language) - for creating Web pages intended for use by wireless
devices such as cell phones and wireless connected PDA's. Made up of
more than 200 companies
CDMA
Development Group

joined together to lead the adoption and evolution of CDMA wireless
systems around the world. The CDG is comprised of the world's leading
CDMA service providers and vendors.
Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM)
The GSM Association is a global body encompassing Europe's leading
wireless communications standard. It is responsible for the development,
deployment and evolution of the GSM standard for digital wireless
communications and for the promotion of the GSM platform. The
Association represents the interests of over 400 GSM, Satellite and 3rd
Generation networks operators, regulator and administrative bodies and
key manufacturers and suppliers to the GSM industry.
Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) (http://www.tetramou.com)
TETRA is a open digital trunked radio standard which is defined by the
European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute (ETSI). TETRA
represents 56 organizations from 19 countries. The group of
manufacturers represents the entire European PMR industry, exclusive of
